A 'hold' means that the item requested has been reserved for the person making the request. The request will be processed by the Library staff and the item posted or made available as requested.

A book is recalled when another client needs it and there are no other available copies

Renewals will only be granted if there is no-one on the waiting list. Items on the waiting list (holds) must be returned by the due date. Renewals will not be granted if there is an outstanding account on the user's library record. Postgraduate students are allowed three and other students, two telephonic renewals.

  • In the libraries at the lending desks
  • By telephone
