Engaged Scholarship

Engaged Scholarship in the College of Economic and Management Sciences is guided by a vision of “Excellence in the implementation of innovative and sustainable initiatives in the service of humanity.” This vision is supported by a commitment to promote entrepreneurship and contribute to national and global development agendas.

We are committed to advancing entrepreneurship, human capital development, sustainable solutions for economic growth and development, and meaningful engagement with communities. Through these initiatives, the College seeks to advance national developmental imperatives and contribute to the realisation of the aspirations of our people. Engaged Scholarship further adds value to Teaching and Learning, as well as Research and Innovation, through projects that address real-world challenges and create meaningful impact in various communities.

The initiatives implemented by the College ultimately aim to ensure that we meaningfully engage with communities in ways that fully resonate with Unisa’s vision of being the African University in the service of humanity.
