Maelekanyo Christopher Mulaudzi is a Full Professor of Human Resource Management and currently serves as the Deputy Executive Dean in the College of Economic and Management Sciences at the University of South Africa (UNISA), a position he has held since 1 January 2024. He previously served as Director of the School of Management Sciences at UNISA for over six years, from July 2016 to February 2023.

Prof Mulaudzi was born and raised in Mapate, a village located approximately 15 kilometres west of Thohoyandou in Limpopo Province. He began his academic career as a lecturer at the University of Venda, followed by the Vaal University of Technology, before joining UNISA in February 2006. Prior to his appointment as Director, he served as Chair of the Department of Human Resource Management at UNISA.
His research interests are wide-ranging and include occupational learning, work-based learning, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), workplace learning, skills development policy, human resource development, organisational behaviour, career management, and training and development. He has presented numerous papers at both local and international conferences and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. His work focuses on areas such as training and development, generational theory, occupational learning, TVET, skills development, and broader human resource development issues.
Prof Mulaudzi holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Industrial Psychology from the University of Venda, a Diploma in Computer Skills (IT) from Stanford Business College in Thohoyandou, and an Honours Bachelor of Commerce in Industrial Psychology from the University of the Western Cape. He obtained his Master of Commerce in Human Resource Management from the University of Venda and completed a Doctorate of Commerce in Industrial and Organisational Psychology at the University of South Africa.
He has contributed several book chapters in the fields of training and development and human resource management. In addition, he has successfully supervised numerous Master’s and Doctoral candidates and currently supervises more than 10 postgraduate students. His supervision areas include talent retention, education and training evaluation, career transition, occupational health and safety, green energy skills, and cybersecurity training. Prof Mulaudzi has served UNISA in various academic and leadership capacities for more than 20 years.
