| Purpose: Pasture management: ecological principles; veld types of Southern Africa; characteristics of veld types; feeding habits and selective feeding; dividing of veld into homogenous ecological units; principles of pasture management; principles of the resting of veld; invasive plants; planted pastures. Nutrition: chemical composition of feeds; energy and protein standards of feeds; digestion of feeds; nutritional requirements of farm animals; classification and nutritional values of feeds; feeding of various groups of animals. | |||
