CAES shows off research infrastructure

The College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (CAES) hosted the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA) officials at the Science Campus on 2 March 2022.

The team from TIA, led by Dr Vuyisile Phehane, visited the CAES laboratories to familiarise themselves with the research infrastructure currently available at UNISA.

The visit was initiated by Dr Phehane, who was invited as a guest speaker during the 2021 Unisa Innovation Week, during which an interest in visiting the CAES research infrastructure was first sparked. TIA has already invested in several projects at CAES and at the College of Science, Engineering and Technology (CSET).

Professors Lucky Lebelo, Olivia Mapholi, and Monde Ntwasa are currently actively establishing the envisaged technology platform and experimental farm. The TIA meeting is one of numerous activities through which CAES is building a network of potential partners so as to establish a solid research and innovation environment.
