Unisa Radio launches major charity campaign

Unisa Radio, in partnership with the City of Tshwane, is running a Back-to-School Charity Drive to collect donations of school shoes and stationery for underprivileged learners.

The campaign will play a vital role in enhancing school programmes and supporting academic excellence and progress. Additionally, it will provide opportunities to support local nonprofit organisations and community causes, making it essential for fostering both school and community growth.

The station has adopted the Imvelaphi History and Heritage Schools Programme as its NGO partner, which will create a vibrant, energetic, and uplifting environment for learners on the day of the handover as they receive the donations. They will deliver a 15-minute performance, incorporating dance, music, and drama, designed to engage, inspire, and entertain learners.

Unisa Radio has identified three primary schools around Tshwane, MaremaTlou Primary School in Atteridgeville, Jan Kotlolo Primary School in Mamelodi and Tiamoko Primary School in Soshanguve as beneficiaries of these donations.

Anyone who would like to donate should visit the following drop-off locations:

  • Unisa Radio, Unisa Sunnyside Campus, Building 4, Cnr Justice Mohammed and Steve Biko streets
  • Akasia Customer Care Centre, 16 Dale Avenue, Karenpark
  • Centurion Customer Care Centre, Cnr Clifton Avenue and Rabie Street, Lyttelton
