Academic Associates

The main objective of Academic Associates is to contribute to the sustained growth of academic scholarship among employees and students at Unisa. This will be achieved through specific activities of academic associates which include:

  • Using their experience, expertise and knowledge for the benefit of the university
  • Enhancing high quality research output by increasing the number of accredited research output in hight impact factor journals attributed to the university
  • Increased the potential for establishing and sustaining a supportive research culture that encourages critical discourse and scholarly debate
  • Enhancing the academic profile and prestige of the university in terms of both research and tuition
  • Providing support to employees/groups in grants application (e.g. proposal writing)
  • Strengthening research capacity (e.g. identification of unique emerging areas of research for development of multidisciplinary research groups).
