Prof. Mostafa Hajiaghaei-Keshteli is a Distinguished Research Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at the School of Engineering and Science, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico. He is also the co-founder of the Center of Sustainable and Smart Logistics (CLIS). His primary research areas include sustainable smart logistics, supply chain integration and optimization, energy supply chains, especially on Hydrogen and Geothermal, multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM), and combinatorial optimization. He has contributed significantly to the design and development of food, agricultural, and energy supply chains, as well as to the advancement of metaheuristic optimization methods. Notably, he is the developer of several well-recognized algorithms, including the Keshtel Algorithm (2012). Prof. Hajiaghaei-Keshteli serves as the principal investigator of several international research projects, including European Union-funded initiatives, a seed grant project in collaboration with the University of Ottawa, Canada, and some projects about hydrogen supply chain in Oman. He has been ranked among the top 5 scholars in supply chain management and is listed among the top 2% of scientists worldwide, according to SciVal and Scopus reports. Furthermore, he is ranked #1 in Closed-Loop Supply Chain and Reverse Logistics in North America and #2 worldwide. According to Research.com, he is also among the top 5 researchers in all engineering fields in Mexico and ranked #1 in Industrial Engineering in Mexico and LATAM. He also serves on the editorial boards of several leading journals published by Elsevier and Springer. In addition to his academic achievements, he has extensive industrial experience, particularly within European industries, including food, dairy, poultry, engine manufacturing, and the automotive sector.
