Dr. Amjid Khan is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the UNESCO-UNISA Africa Chair in Nanoscience & Nanotechnology (U2ACN2) at the University of South Africa. He holds a PhD in Plant Sciences from Quaid-i-Azam University, Pakistan and brings over 8 years of teaching and research experience as a visiting faculty member and research associate at various prestigious institutions. His research focuses on the single-step green synthesis of oxalates for carbon sequestration, as well as the green synthesis of sustainable nanomaterials for antimicrobials, anticancer, anti-diabetic, and wound-healing applications. Additionally, he leads innovations in nano-fertilizers and biofertilizers aimed at enhancing sustainable agriculture and crop production. An exceptionally prolific researcher, Dr. Khan has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications in well-reputed international journals. He has also actively contributed to over 20 scientific workshops and conferences, including organizing and presenting at major events hosted by the Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS), the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the OIC Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH), the Islamic World Academy of Sciences (IAS), the Monbukagakusho-MEXT Alumni Association of Pakistan (MAAP), the Higher Council for Science and Technology (HCST), and the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
