Short Bio:

Prof. Rabelani Dagada is the Chair of Department: Digital Transformation and Supply Chain Management, and an Associate Professor of ICT in UNISA Graduate School of Business Leadership. He previously worked for the University of Johannesburg’s Institute for Intelligent Systems (IIS). Prior to joining the ISS, he served as a Lecturer of Information Systems Management at the Wits Business School for just over ten years. While at the Wits Business School, he introduced a programme on ICT Governance and Risk Management and served as its founding Programme Director.

Prof Dagada also has extensive experience in the private sector wherein he held senior positions in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT). He was the inaugural winner of the 2008 ICT Visionary Award bestowed on 5 November 2008 by the IITPSA in conjunction with ITWeb and Gordon Institute of Business Science and Gartner Africa. On 12 November 2015, he was awarded the IITPSA fellowship in acknowledgement for his “extraordinary contribution to the Institute and the ICT profession through selfless service by bestowing the honour of being a Fellow of the Institute”. A Prof. Dagada authored and edited several peer-reviewed books.

As an entrepreneur, Dagada has established several companies; these include a fund manager which is an authorised financial service provider. He holds a Master’s in Educational Computing (Rand Afrikaans University), a Master’s of Commerce in Information Systems (Wits), PhD in Information Systems (UNISA), and a PhD in Developmental Economics (Wits).
