Dr. Arthur Tuda is a leading voice in marine science, policy, and conservation action in the Western Indian Ocean. As Executive Director of WIOMSA, he advances cutting-edge marine science and champions its translation into policy and on-the-ground action. A former Head of Marine Conservation for Kenya, he brings deep expertise in Marine Protected Areas, regional governance, and ecosystem-based management.

Through influential science–policy platforms and partnerships, he has helped shape regional marine conservation agendas, support delivery of global commitments such as 30×30, and strengthen collaboration across Africa and beyond. Dr. Tuda is widely recognised for communicating complex science in ways that inspire practical action and collective leadership.
