Adv Lihle Mapipa is a Legal Practitioner, passionate about Human Rights and believes that justice should prevail in all spheres of life. She is mainly interested in Commercial Law, Maritime Law, Corporate Governance, Compliance, Risk Management, Family Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Adv Mapipa has the following qualifications and professional engagements: Advocate of the High Court of South Africa; 26 years post admission experience; Acting Judge of the High Court of South Africa (KwaZulu-Natal) - August 2018 Ad Hoc; Admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of SA in March 1999; Admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of SA in January 2014; B. Juris - Bachelors Degree in Law and an LLB Honours Degree both obtained from former University of Transkei (now Walter Sisulu University) in 1995 and 1998; Masters in Law Degree (2003) from former University of Natal now University of KwaZulu-Natal; LLD Doctor of Laws Degree (honoris causa) conferred in August 2025 USA; Panel Member of the Court of Marine Enquiry appointed by the Minister of Transport since May 2024 (Ad hoc); and Founded the Mapipa-Ndlovu Attorneys in November 2007 incorporated as Lihle Mapipa- Ndlovu Inc.

Adv Mapipa is also involved with Women in Maritime SA as a Member of The Governance Structure (Leading the Marketing & Communications Portfolio), and the KwaZulu-Natal Black Lawyers Association (BLA) – BEC Member – Secretary. Adv Mapipha joined the Moses Kotane Research Institute (MKRI) in April 2016 as an internal Legal Consultant seconded by the Legal Consulting Firm. In 2019, Adv Mapipa was appointed as the Executive Manager Corporate Services of the MKRI. In 2023-2024, Adv Mapipa Acted as the CEO of the Moses Kotane Research Institute (MKRI).
